Guidelines Regarding COVID-19 for New International Students Entering Thailand

Notice to International Students Regarding Studies at Kasetsart University

Semester 2 (starting January 2021) (During COVID-19)

According to the Kingdom's current policies, if foreign students are able to get a long-term education visa and allowed to enter, students must comply with all regulations and conditions stipulated by the Thai Government, including the following:
  • quarantine for 14 days at an approved site (range in price and conditions, some are very basic and some are more luxurious). For more information, please see https://www.facebook.com/Alternative-State-Quarantine-105755234490444 or http://hsscovid.com.
  • classes begin the second week of January 2021, so students will need to arrive more than two weeks before the first day of their classes in order to fulfill their quarantine period to obtain accommodation, to attend orientation and make personal arrangements.
  • students will need to be responsible for all of their expenses incurred in trying to meet the entrance requirements, including costs of any transportation, health examination, medical certificates, insurance, quarantine, or medical care.
  • students must first submit the required documentation related to study, travel, and health status to the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home country. Please update required documents with the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home country website
  • students must get overseas Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19 and related illnesses, applicable from the date of leaving their current residence to the date the students will complete their studies at Kasetsart University and depart Thailand. The policy must cover at least US$100,000 of medical expenses.

Required travel documents for Thailand

  1. Certificate of Entry (COE) : A document to certify that the student is eligible to enter Thailand
  2. LOA :Letter of Acceptance from a host university in Thailand
  3. Visa :New student visa and expired student visa fees
  4. Certificate :
    1. 4.1. A medical certificate confirming that the traveler is fit for travel (Fit to Fly Health).
    2. 4.2. A medical certificate confirming that the traveler is free of COVID-19 via RT-PCR examination, 72 hours prior to departure.
  5. Insurance :An insurance policy that covers healthcare and medical expenses for COVID-19 treatment for the period in which the traveler resides in Thailand, not less than USD 100,000.
  6. Proof of Eligible Quarantine Location :Proof that the place where the traveler is quarantined is in accordance with the official rules and guidelines of the Thai Government.
  7. Proof of Relationship :A document/ proof of relationship between the student and his/her parent(s) or caretaker(s)
